TL;DR
This guide shows how to switch between report pages in Power BI using Bookmarks and Buttons, creating a tab-like navigation experience without needing separate pages visible to users. It covers creating bookmarks, assigning them to buttons, and configuring each page so the correct button state highlights on click.
What are Bookmarks?
Bookmark is a Power BI feature that enables you to capture the current state of your report page. And you can then refer to this captured state, as a “special” page through the Action property on your buttons, images, shapes, and so on.
Step-1:
Here we have created three pages named as Page1-ColumnChart, Page2-Matrix & Page3-PieChart
Use Some Visuals on All three Pages.
Page 1: Clustered Column Chart
Page 2: Matrix
Page 3: Pie chart
Step-2:
Now add three buttons on each page or you can copy and paste from one page to another page.
Step-3:
Give name to each button like Chart, Matrix & Pie Chart and
Do the same basic formatting. We will try to show that the selected value looks different compared to other buttons.
Step-4:
How to Create Bookmarks:
Go to View Tab, click on Bookmarks Pane after that click on ADD to add a Bookmarks. Once we are added Bookmarks then we will assign the Bookmarks name.
Step-5:
Assign Bookmarks with Buttons
You can use Action to map Bookmarks with buttons for navigation from one page to another page. Make sure for the current Page Off the Button Action.

Follow this Setting for All the Pages
Page-1 Settings:
Select Button Column Chart: Off Action
Select Button Matrix: Enable Action, Select Action type Bookmarks & Select Matrix Page from Bookmark.
Select Button Pie chart: Enable Action, Select Action type Bookmarks & Select Pie chart Page from Bookmark.
Page-2 Settings:
Select Button Line Chart: Enable Action, Action type Bookmarks & Select Line Chart Page from Bookmark.
Select Button Matrix: Off Action
Select Button Pie chart: Enable Action, Action type Bookmarks & Select Pie chart Page from Bookmark.
Page-3 Settings:
Select Button Line Chart: Enable Action, Action type Bookmarks & Select Line Chart Page from Bookmark.
Select Button Matrix: Enable Action, Action type Bookmarks & Select Matrix Page from Bookmark.
Select Button Pie chart: Off Action
Final Result:
Now we will use the Buttons to navigate the Page. Just simply click Ctrl+click on the Buttons
