Hello readers, in this blog we will see how to connect Azure storage account with Power BI. Before going into the details, lets understand what is a storage account in Azure.

A storage account is a container that bands a set of Azure Storage services together.

  • Azure Blobs are scalable object store for text and binary data.
  • Azure Files are organized file shares for cloud or on-premises deployments.
  • Azure Queue is a messaging store for consistent messaging
  • Azure Tables are NoSQL store for schema-less storage of structured data.

In Power BI, we can only connect with Azure Blobs and Azure Tables as we have lot of connectors available to connect Power BI with multiple Azure services.

Procedure to connect with both storage account is same. Let’s look at Azure Blob Storage connector. Once you select Azure Blob Storage, you will be prompted to give Account Name or URL.
