On the first glance, it may seem that CRM and HR can never be integrated, but when given a thought, employees are to be considered as significant asset of the company who contribute to the product and service delivery to the clients and customers. Thus, most of the HR head have started using CRM technologies for managing human capital of the company. And this is called as Employee Resource Management (ERM). In most of the companies it is commonly called as Human Resource Information System (HRIS), which provides integrated information of the employees and manages all kinds of aspects of them.

Some of the features of ERM are –

  1. Profile management –

  1. Leave management –

There are various leaves segregation is given as per leaves categories. Accumulated leaves, loss of pay leaves, sick leaves, earned leaves etc is displayed to the employees. They can apply directly for the leaves, which is then escalated to their managers for approval. Customizations are also available for leave type management, which is only accessible to the admin.

  1. Training –

Some of the HRIS have feature for managing training and development of the employees. Notifications go the required attendees for the specific trainings in due course of time. It also displays if there are any overdue trainings.

  1. Selection and offers –

As the HRIS are often termed as Application Tracking System (ATS), they start tracking the employees from their candidate phase, from their application to their selection at the company. Selected employees are then automatically sent offers for the job roles. This can be automated or manually done through the software.

  1. Alerts and pop ups –

Alert feature comes in handy for due meetings, birthdays, anniversaries etc. which one set by the admin, can work automatically for sending notification.

  1. Payroll management –

This is very important feature of any ERM, where salary structures (based of formulae) are fed to the software. It automatically calculates the salaries along with incentives, leaves calculation, PF – tax deduction. Once calculation is done, it generates the salary slips or payslips of the employees, which are accessible to them, by each month.
