Configure Schedule Refresh for Reports

Configuring schedule refresh in Power BI is a process by which you specify when and how often your Power BI datasets and reports should be automatically updated with the latest data from your data sources.

Here’s how you can set it up:

Step 1: In Power BI Services, navigate to the dataset associated with your report.
Step 2: Click on the “More options” (…) next to the dataset.

Step 3: Select the “settings” option.

A new window will pop up with dataset settings.

Step 4: Scroll down to the “Refresh” section.

Step-5: Toggle on the “Configure a refresh schedule” button and enable it.

Step 6: Configure schedule refresh


(a) Set the frequency. For the requirement of daily updates, select “Daily”.
(b) Specify the time according to your time zone.
(c) for multiple refreshes in a day, i.e., at different times, select “add another time”.

Step-7: Click the “Apply” button to save the refresh schedule settings.
